“He wants to be good and he can’t be good!” Omg that was me growing up I was the kind of kid who fought got angry and yelled but didn’t mean to bad. I just had adhd and regulation issues. And yes my mom also made it worse by never listening and communicating with me but rather only shouting back adding fule to the flames instead of either listening (not giving in to demands but talking instead of yelling.) or ignoring me.

My son has ADHD. He is 36 now. I learned early. ADHD needs " proper "discipline. Many parents justify their behavior and let it go. That's lazy and detrimental for that child. Ruin them forever. I learned they need even more discipline. But the right kind. Attention deficit disorder. They need more attention.

Try getting down on his level all kids act like that when you stand above them and bark orders try getting down on their level and making direct eye contact then verbalize simply what it is you need or don't need them to do. Don't complicate it and follow through.

The thing many people dont know is that this is caused by not having enough dopamine and the brain do everething it can to get some. Understanding dopamine is the first step to understand how to work with adhd.
