Naughty chairs don’t work on tantrums. It’s better to have an outlet for anger and then cuddle your kids and reassure them emotions are ok. That way they grow up to trust you

Most parents today don’t want input like grandparents to discipline their kids. It’s sad but hopefully it will work out with the grandkids in the long term. That’s what we all want. Hurts me to see though.

Parents need to follow through to establish credibility. The children need to learn there are consequences to their actions.
After my son acted up, I said I'd cancel his birthday party. He had to sit next to me when I called all of his friends to cancel it. He had to watch while I unwrapped his gifts then he accompanied me when I returned them. He never doubted me after that.

It really works. You keep putting them back on the chair everytime they get down before their time is up and they eventually learn to stay there. It gets easier each episode.
