He's using meal time for control and attention. Put healthy food on his plate and ignore him. No fighting, begging, "just one bite" etc. No attention to what he is or isn't eating. No snacks besides fruit or vegetables in between. He'd eat.

The way this mother caters to his outbursts is the issue. You dont teach boundaries at 16. She created this. Lazy and the father as well. Food is the what goes in and is not nutricious that leads to more serious medical issues.

At least in your home, don't buy the crap, don't offer the option of the crap and model healthy and varied food eating. Disrupting class, exhausting the teachers who by law are unable to properly discipline them, distracting other students, getting the office staff involved and over worked, etc. all because parents are too ignorant, afraid, or lazy to properly discipline them.
