Nobody hears what the girl actually is saying? She is suffocating. Meaning mom is ordering and deciding everything in her life. Moms too strict. Let the girl breathe and then she will listen. The smoking is an outlet and something she really doesn't want to do but needs to. Otherwise, she goes insane. The stricter you are, the more sneaky your kids will be. They'll hide anything from you until they're grown. Then they just won't show up at your doorstep. Just when you're sick or dying, maybe.
