It is never okay to hit or get physical with your kids no matter what generation you live in! You’re the parent. You need to make your kids feel safe and teach them the importance of not hurting others. But getting physical with them does not help in the slightest. You’re telling your kid to not hit and get physical when that’s what you choose to do and then they wonder why their kid still hits.

So he disciplined his kids she doesn't like that claims he went to far to the point of him believing that and any point the kids need form guidance he says they need discipline and she goes off at him for that so they don't learn do their the parents or kids.
